From the laid-back vibes of beach clubs to the pulsating energy of underground late-night venues and the chic allure of hip nightclubs, there’s something for everyone.
We all love Bali for its culture, friendly people, and people, and excellent culinary cuisine, but for holidaymakers, ex-pats, and locals, Bali has a booming nightlife and club scene that seems to be growing daily. Whether you are staying in a Seminyak holiday villa or perhaps lounging by the pool in your boho Canggu villa, once the sunsets, it’s time to glam it up, throw down a few Bintangs in the villa for pre-party drinks and head straight to town and hit the clubs.
So, if you’re coming to Bali and want to know the best places to dance, party hard, and make loads of new friends, this list is the ultimate guide to where to party in Bali. From hip clubs where international DJs spin the latest tunes to tranced-out twenty-somethings to energy night venues where you can sweat it out dancing, Bali is party heaven. So forget about waking up early. It’s time to party all night and sleep all day here at Bali’s best nightclubs.
Bali Nightlife: Seminyak’s best dance clubs & nightclubs
1) La Favela
Everyone knows La Favela, an institution on the nightclub scene in Seminyak. Join the queues and be thrilled by the Brazilian-themed slum look with shabby decor, lush gardens and a Volkswagon battle van to welcome you into this fairytale wonderland. La Favela has some of the biggest events and parties in Bali, and people from all over the island specifically come here to get it on! For a unique experience, head to La Favela and dance with all the glammed-up bods. It’s right on Eat Street, so it’s easy to get to – every Go-Jek driver knows it.

Imagine industrial style, cosy highlighting, softwood furnishings and a place where creative interior designer Ashely Sutton has taken a leaf out of the book of the mines of Australia and turned it into a pulsating nightclub. In central Seminyak in Petitenget, you’ll find cocktails out of this world, a massive selection of wine and beers and let’s not forget the parties. This is all about legendary nightly parties where you can escape to this eclectic club, party till late and enjoy cabarets, DJs and live bands. 3) Motel Mexicola
Hola hombre, welcome to the hottest restaurants and club venues in Seminyak! Everyone, and I mean everyone, comes to Motel Mexicola at least once in Bali. It’s a Bali bucket list must-do, and the reason is simple: it’s so much fun, and this is why you come to Bali to party hard and enjoy fun music (think Elvis and Tina Turner and other lost tunes from the ’80s and ’90s). Here, tacos, sangria and the obligatory tequila shots are on tap and flowing the whole night. Its 1950s-style Mexican vibe adds to the great, feel-good party vibes. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself dancing on the long tables later in the evening, and as the saying goes, ‘what happens at Mexicola stays in Mexicola’.

Everyone comes to Shi Shi not just because of the all-you-can-eat, great-value restaurant downstairs at Izakaya Lounge (@ Oct ’24 about Rp 800,000 pp) but also for the hip and happening crowd that heads over most nights to party, pick up, and get in holiday mode. With DJs, a big dance floor, and loud music, Shi Shi Shi is for serious partiers who do not mind sleeping in late. It’s smack bang in the heart of Petitenget, a stone’s throw or short Go Jek ride from Seminyak central, so it’s easy to get to.

You might not be religious, but this gothic church-style nightclub with wall-to-wall mirrors will undoubtedly stir some emotions. These are, wow, let’s grab a few drinks and party till late. 9) The Forge
The Forge is more like a pub but still packs a punch when it comes to partying. Think of lots of TV screens, retro music (on some nights), and a relaxed, casual vibe perfect for those pre-party shots and Bintangs. The Forge offers a refreshing change to the usual nightclubs, and it reminds me of Bali of old, where you could rock up in your boardies and still enjoy a few cold ones. The food is pub-style, and the prices are realistic and great for a night out.

Like a secret vault, you must know where to find this Berlin-style underground hangout, where the cool Canggu crowd goes nightly to party their sox off. Its vibe is Euro meets Bali, and every night offers something special for their die-hard partygoers—from RnB and afrobeat to techno and hip hop. Come here to party, drink hard, and don’t expect to get up early to surf or swim – this is a late-night venue.

11) Old Man’s
We’ve all been going to Old Man’s for years, and it’s the first beach bar in Canggu (I think). It set the stage for the growing up of Canggu as people came here as a cool alternative to Seminyak. Old Man’s is a beer garden right on Old Man’s Beach (yes, they named a whole beach after this place) and is a casual, buzzy hang for post-surf sundowners. As the sun sets and the beers kick in, the place becomes (as expected) crammed with people all wanting to party, drink and go mental. There’s often live music, and they always have DJs flying in from Europe to mix some tunes. Old Man’s has been around forever and will continue to entertain as the years roll on – make sure you come here for at least sunset Bintangs.
Visit: Old Man’s
Address: Jl Pantai Batu Bolong No. 117x, Canggu; Open daily from 11am.
12) Sandbar
Let’s be honest: You are not coming to Sandbar for light music and food. No, no, no… Sandbar is an adrenalin-fuelled, boozy, party-hard, loud-pumping music at Batu Bolongs Beach’s sands. Sandbar kicks off at about 1 am when the other bigger beach clubs close. Dance on the sand and mix it up with teenagers, backpackers and people who want to cut loose. There is not much more to say than to expect a serious late night / early morning and a massive hangover!!
Visit: Sandbar
Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong, Canggu
13) Deus Cafe
Deus was one of the famous original cafes/restaurants in Canggu. It also sold surf gear, motorbikes, clothing, and artwork. They also have an on-site tattooist and special event evenings. Keeping up with the demand for nightlife in Canggu, Deus has one of the most popular late-night bars in Bali. Check out their schedule of events and when live bands are playing.

15) Single Fin
Single Fin is at the entrance of the stairs leading down to Uluwatuts ‘ world-famous surf beach at Suluban Cliff. You can’t miss it and it has the most sensational ocean views as it’s perched on the cliff. People come here during the day to graze on family-friendly food with a few drinks and watch the surfers below, but as soon as the late afternoon comes, it evolves into ‘the hang’ where everyone comes to watch the sunset, listen to music and rev it up a few gears. Expect pizzas, jugs of mojitos, nachos, tasty finger food, live DJs, and, best of all, those legendary Sunday parties. At least there’s no work on Monday!

16) Hatch
One of the most popular nightclubs in Uluwatu, Hatch, is a restaurant during the day, but wait till the night kicks in, and this is where the fun really begins up on the Bukit. Hatch is made from natural materials; the space has an eclectic vibe but packs a punch with nightly events to keep everyone coming back. At Hatch, you’ll feel like you are in a tropical jungle, which feels much more like you are at a psychedelic music festival/bush doof than in a venue. At Hatch, it’s all about the music and fun times, so make sure you pay it a visit up here in Ulu’s.
